QTH here is St Joseph, MO. I got licensed in 2005 after completing my test on field day at Coronodo Hights in Kansas. I then specialized in communication systems in college. That career path fizzled out and I now am an automation and controls engineer for a large battery manufacture.  I use several of my radios a Kenwood TS-940S, TS-2000 and TS-480 barefoot (100w) into a Carolina Windom, Random Wire and Gutter antenna. For VHF we just put up a big wheel antenna. I am an avid Hallicrafters and Heathkit collector. So you may even hear me on the air with my HW-101 or SB-110a. You can also find me on Instagram, that is where most of my ham and electronics documenting is done. 

Often my kids Codi 13, Gage 15 and Lorelai 9 , will be on the radio as well. Gage is studying for his tech class and we hope to get him tested come field day 2024. Codi has mentioned wanting her license, she loves the idea of satellites. 

I also have the KC0UUF-10 I-gate both VHF and HF on 30M (10.147.30) 24/7/365, a winlink sysop 14.100.75. In addition, I am planning to add 6M or another HF band to the I-gate soon. I am working on a beacon and VHF Vera winlink.

The Carolina Windom is the best antenna I have ever made / owned. It is tuned for 80M but with TS-2000 and TS-940 internal tuner it is an all band antenna. The random wire is a bit of fun, it too is all band with the tuner. It is just one strand of speaker wire about 250 ft long and stapled to the wood privacy fence at 6ft agl. It is fed with RG6, center conductor to speaker wire and shield to earth ground. The gutter antenna is loaded to the down spout via a 4:1 balun then it runs north, and attached to the east side of the gutter with 10 awg wire and the east side gutter runs south with a downspout. This antenna is actually preforming very well and is very broadband. I have a dual band 2m and 440 antenna and a 2m big wheel mounted 20ft agl 15 ft apart.
